The mission of Advocates for Cultural Engagement (ACE) is to create awareness of arts and cultural issues at the local, state and national levels. To achieve this goal, ACE encourages action within the NYU community, collaborates with other student groups and appeals to government representatives.
The Steinhardt community: undergraduate and graduate students, professors, and staff from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
Host events that bring together the Steinhardt community in the name of arts advocacy, fostering awareness and action.
Become a resource for arts advocacy issues, and promote awareness of these issues among our audience.
Maintain regular communication with the Steinhardt community via an ACE blog, action memos, and a Facebook page.
Attend annual arts action summits in Washington, DC and Albany with an envoy of NYU Steinhardt representatives.
Initiate email and letter campaigns to petition for legislative action.
Through these actions ACE envisions a future Steinhardt community of active, aware, and knowledgeable advocates to further the agenda of arts and culture.
