Learn about the current arts issues circulating on Capitol Hill, including the latest research and talking points, during the legislative training sessions. Hear from members of Congress and acclaimed artists at the Congressional Arts Kick Off on Capitol Hill.
Attend the 23rd Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, featuring The Honorable Joseph P. Riley, Jr., Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina. Watch video of last year’s lecture by jazz musician Wynton Marsalis. Join other arts advocates from your state to make the case for arts and arts education to your members of Congress.

ACE is working to help you attend and represent the NYU student community by providing assistance with registration, travel and hotel costs. Please note, you must book your own hotel – information on which hotel our group will be staying at will be released within the next two weeks.

Important Dates to Remember:

March 6 – ACE’s preferred registration deadline. You must contact steinhardt.ace@nyu.edu or register at table during Open Studios in the Barney Building and verify that you would like to attend Arts Advocacy Day in DC.

March 15 – Absolute deadline to receive financial assistance from ACE. Please understand that if you verify that you would like to attend, this is also the deadline to back out – after this you will be obligated.

March 22 – Deadline for hotel group rate discount. All hotel information can be found on the Americans for the Arts website.

March 29 – American’s for the Arts deadline to register for group rate.

April 11 – Date we depart for DC. Also, date of Emerging Leaders Symposium, a separate conference in DC specific for students – ask if you are interested in attending this as well.

April 12, 13 – Dates of Arts Advocacy Day in DC.

April 13 – Return to New York.
